Diana De Luca was born in Avezzano (AQ) in 1996. In 2020 she graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of L’Aquila with a monographic thesis on the artist Marion Baruch (Timisoara, 1929). In 2023, she graduated in Sculpture at the same Academy, conducting a research on the work of art as sign and symbol, starting from the interpretation of the world that passes through the experience of the female body. Specifically, the investigation she carried out examined the posture of the body in the work of three female artists: Valie Export, Helena Almeida and Margherita Morgantin.
“My artistic research develops in the relationship between the body and the production of meaning, and it is articulated through various languages, such as writing, drawing and installation, with a particular interest in textile materials.”
She participated in group exhibitions, artist residencies and workshops. From 2019 to 2022 she was part of WRG, a women’s art collective.
She currently lives in Borgorose (RI), a place that she finds stimulating because of its naturalistic richness, which “has led me to question the relationships with the environment, which is rich in living beings that are not only human.” From here, she often travels for work, study and pleasure. Since November 2023, she is training in Gestalt psychology and Bodywork at the FGB school, based in Bra (CN) Italy.
In 2023 she participated in the With-in the woods workshop in Appennino, Italy, and she now came to Intersectia to continue the research in Romanian woods.
